North Island Secondary School Champs

The first weekend of March saw our Maadi crews head down to Karapiro to compete in the North Island Secondary School Champs. NISSC is the second-largest regatta of the season and a great opportunity for the crews to compete at the national level. The club had near-perfect racing conditions on Saturday before the weather turned on Sunday.

Boys U18 coxed 8 makes the A final for the first time in 33 years

The highlight of the weekend was the Boys U18 coxed 8 of B Mansell, G Layburn, T Smith, O Burton, T Foster, C Willman-Childs, B An, T Dodds + A Bourke making it through to the A Final - a first for a Takapuna 8 in 33 years. They competed well in the final finishing a strong 6th. This was a brilliant performance from this crew - congratulations you’ve done the club proud.
